Job Description

Overview

Legion Brewing is a rapidly growing craft brewer with multiple locations in Charlotte, NC. Since opening our doors in 2015, the team here at Legion has worked hard to build an environment of what we call “campfire hospitality” for everyone who walks through our doors. And we make some pretty great beer.


We are looking for a creative leader to join the Legion team as the Director of Sales and National Accounts. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and executing a strategy to grow sales, increase brand presence, and strengthen relationships with distributor partners. You will be the main point of contact for chain retailers in both the on and off-premise environments. Further, you will be the direct supervisor to sales representatives across the company.


Reports to: Vice-President of Sales

Key Responsibilities

·Cultivate and strengthen the critical relationship between the company and our distributor partners.

·Lead and inspire a team of Sales Representatives with a focus on future growth opportunities.

·Effectively communicate sales and marketing initiatives with Sales Team and Distributor partners.

·Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual sales calls and business reviews with distributor partners and key retailers.

·Execute wholesaler engagement initiatives to motivate and inspire all distributor personnel.

·Responsible for achieving goals for sales, displays, shelf position, and pricing

·Direct sales and merchandising efforts in assigned area to ensure results are consistent with company goals and objectives.

·Work with sales representatives to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in the market and potential overage situations.

·Establish and execute a local retailer call frequency in key on-premise and off-premise accounts.

·Manage local budgets including volume, sales and marketing, and distributor.

·Utilize sales tools (IRI, Nielsen, VIP) to analyze, develop and implement strategic sales plans.

·Reviews weekly business reports and market surveys with Director of Sales and Marketing.

·Monitor shipments and inventory while adhering to the company’s strict quality standards.

·Maintain an excellent working relationship with fellow members of the team.

·Perform administrative duties in a timely manner

·Attend special events, festivals, beer dinners & tastings as needed.

·Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times.

·Perform other business-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

·Bachelor’s Degree, Business or Marketing concentration is preferred.

·5+ years’ experience in craft beer sales is desirable; preference will be given to those with beverage sales or consumer product goods experience.

·Candidate must have proven computer skills and be proficient in Excel, Word and Microsoft outlook, and have reliable internet access from home.

·Team Management experience, with the ability to coach and mentor direct reports.

·A results driven, energetic, confident personality.

·Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.

·Exemplary interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.

·A valid state driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment period with the company.

·Intensive local travel schedule and flexible work schedule will be required, with regular visits to bars, restaurants, other retailers and warehouses.

·Willing to work a flexible schedule including potential nights and weekends.
