What You’ll Do
The Site Merchant, Ecommerce will manage site merchandising and promotion initiatives on Wilson’s US Baseball & Softball focused ecommerce sites (DeMarini.com, Slugger.com, Evoshield.com, atecsports.com, Team.Shop). The Site Merchandiser will be pivotal ecommerce player collaborating daily with the marketing, product, and ecommerce team to deliver category and site objectives.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
- Initiate & Manage A/B testing in an effort to optimize conversion, AOV, abandon cart rate and checkout abandon rate as well as overall customer experience (i.e. linking, navigation, refinements, sort order, etc.).
- Analyze search term reports to improve results, conversions and average order size and optimize search rules.
- Lead product introduction and promotion planning strategies for assigned categories.
- In conjunction with merchandising and marketing, develop and execute on category and landing page strategy (e.g., which content and creative assets to use, space allocation across categories).
- Conduct competitive analysis on UI & UX initiatives, including product and listing page display, menu, search, and other relevant areas.
- Manage the product merchandising presentation within the assigned categories and sites to best respond to customer demand and convert visits into profitable sales by analyzing traffic, sales conversion and search data as well as leveraging heatmapping and other analytical tools to understand key user journeys.
- Plan, deploy, evaluate, and optimize site merchandising areas (homepage, landing pages, product detail pages, etc.). Make data-driven recommendations to business partners.
- Collaborate with marketing, commercial, and creative teams to implement new and seasonal campaigns as well as execute markdowns and other clearance strategies to drive category KPIs.
- Collaborate with merchandising planner & analyst to ensure product assortment is optimized for in-stock delivery.
What We Are Looking For
This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. We are seeking a candidate with 5-6 years of work experience with at least two years of merchandising experience.
Plus, the following skills:
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience using leading ecommerce and CMS platforms, preferably Magento and Drupal.
- Ability to interpret and leverage site analytics to drive improvements to KPIs.
- Understand how to represent the brand and integrate story telling into site merchandising strategies.
- Passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Strong organizational skills; detailed oriented
- Strong cross functional collaborator, innovative problem solver and able to work well under pressure.
- Communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams / matrix environment.
- Proven experience working in merchandising and/or ecommerce with an apparel brand or retailer.
- Ability to be successful in a dynamic environment with competing deadlines
- Proven leader, self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of handling both tactical and strategic assignments
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Able to make data-driven recommendations to business partners.
