It all begins at the Call Center! Vibrant, smart, multitasker sought, with background in phone service in a doctor's office making appointments, transferring calls, triage, and servicing patients. The Eye Care Group is actively recruiting in the Call Center in our Waterbury Office. Much patient care business is conducted over the phone and in most cases we are the first means of contact, and first impression. This is a front-line, customer-service oriented position, and you should be capable of maintaining you and your team with a professional and positive attitude; while promoting a positive customer / patient experience.
Duties are to answer and route all incoming calls as well as make patient appointments and answer appropriately for patient inquiries
- You must be “fast on your feet”, and highly organized to maintain the balance of friendly discourse and getting the job done, off the phone to the next call.
- Participates with the training process of new team members
- Display's positive voice qualities, communicates to our customers in a courteous and professional manner, follows guidelines for transfers, follow department standards for utilizing appropriate telephone etiquette at all times to ensure consistent quality service is being delivered.
- Maintains attendance in accordance with standards. This is a “patient specific” position therefore preference will be given to applicants who have flexible availability and can best support the needs of the practice
- Performs other duties as assigned by department management, for example; working on special projects, or assisting Front Desk, Medical Records and the like. Must have understanding of registration process for scheduling new patients.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient and hospital information. Performs all tasks with attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness. Utilizes all tools and resources effectively and efficiently to service the needs of our customers.
Partial remote work schedule will be considered for interested employees who meet/exceed performance and productivity expectations after 90 days of employment. Remote work is scheduled at the sole discretion of The Eye Care Group. All employees of The Eye Care Group are required to report to work on premises for scheduled hours unless specified by their supervisor.

Requirements:Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Maintains thorough knowledge of regulations and guidelines, as well as procedures to ensure accurate and compliant processes are being administered.
- Ability to manage “call drops” and put into place process for eliminating if not minimizing them.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail yet uses good judgment in seeking advice when necessary.
- High record of dependability and good attendance record.
- Effective multi-tasking skills. Must have basic keyboard skills and experience/knowledge of how to operate computers and telephones. Computer experience a must.
- We are looking for Bi Lingual representatives that are fluent in English and Spanish.
- Professional appearance required.
- Must have good working knowledge of health insurance.
- Must have top-notch customer service skills that drive quality and provide an exceptional patient experience.
- At least two years’ experience in a medical office servicing patients on the telephone
- Must be COVID vaccinated
- Must be able to work 37.5 hours/week
- Ability to prioritize and follow established procedures and maintain a calm professional demeanor during busy periods and particularly in the event of an emergency.
- Demonstrate excellent human relations in verbal, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to work cooperatively within a diverse team environment.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service that drives quality and an exceptional customer experience.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high volume call center environment.
- Must be able to meet the scheduling requirements on an ongoing basis – the call center is open specific hours and we must have reliable coverage during those times.
- Must be detail oriented, customer focused, have a pleasant speaking voice, and possess skills in proper telephone etiquette.
