Manages and directly supervises from 4 to 10 Territory Managers and one Region office person. Has direct esponsibility for maximizing light oil profits and sales in a multi-state area. Develops and implements regional gasoline strategy to insure the strategy will support corporate and refinery MTP objectives. Monitors and oversees compliance with CITGO contract terms, credit policies and branding standards. Internally within CITGO, communicates competitive prices, competitive programs, policies and procedures to develop market intelligence and then makes recommendations on how CITGO should react to same. Conducts performance reviews, training, review of prospective employees. Interfaces with support groups, i.e., supply, customer service, credit card, legal, advertising, contracts, pricing, to insure sales objectives are met in compliance with overall corporate objectives.

  • Monitor, control and approve departmental expenditures within budget and authority limits.
  • Review contract proposals and execute one year trial franchise agreements and three year franchise agreements, CAP agreements and one year distillate contracts for branded Distributors.
  • Maximize profitable branded light oil sales by building, retaining and maintaining a network of quality CITGO branded Marketers. Manage the negotiation of supply and pricing contracts in accordance with long and short range goals to meet sales and profit objectives with these Marketers.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Interacts with other CITGO work groups which support the light oils sales activities, and assists in establishing pricing policies, resolving supply issues and assisting in the resolution of credit related, contract and sales program issues such as terminal by terminal evaluations.
  • Experience in the sales and marketing of gasoline and distillates in the United States.
  • Approve and monitor branding of marketer retail outlets, for new and exisiting marketers, in accordance with image and cost objectives.
  • Manage and supervise Light-Oils sales personnel to manage all branded gasoline sales to CITGO customers in each multi state Region, using strategies that best support the corporate midterm plan to maximize profits and balance sales to refinery production.
  • Monitors branded competitors programs, policies and procedures. Recommends to managements actions which will assure CITGO remains competitive in the marketplace.
  • Direct and assist direct reports in improving job performance and career path development. Plan, execute or recommend salary actions, transfers, promotions and terminations.
