We are seeking a full time Business Development Manager (Travel Trade) to join our Fla team.
Essential Job Functions:
• Create and deliver enjoyable and immersive experiences.
• Develop and implement an account strategy within a specific geographic territory in Florida.
• Achieve and exceed established sales goals, with a focus on travel trade experience (e.g., travel agencies).
• Foster and maintain strong, long-term relationships that align with company objectives and consistently grow.
• Employ a proactive sales approach, actively listening to customers and providing tailored solutions.
• Effectively turn agency issues into business opportunities through a win-win service recovery approach.
• Lead or participate in trade shows, seminars, shipboard luncheons, and industry events as required.
• Negotiate group quotes and contracts to meet revenue targets.
• Plan and oversee marketing initiatives and sales plans in collaboration with partners, while reporting results to management.
• Ensure the implementation of travel advisory training, sales strategies, and business plans.
• Maintain an accurate and detailed agency database using a CRM system.
• Conduct a minimum of 20 in-person sales calls per week and no fewer than 5 remote sales calls per day.
Education Requirements, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relationship-sales experience, demonstrating a track record of revenue growth.
• Experience in the cruise and/or travel industry, or travel agency background is required.
Knowledge:
• Possess extensive knowledge and established contacts at key travel agencies and tour operators within the assigned territory.
• Strong understanding of products offered by Cruise Lines from a Travel agency perspective BDM.
• Familiarity with established sales methodologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience using web-based presentation tools such as Zoom, WebEx, and GoToWebinar.
Skills:
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including public speaking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in planning, budgeting, business management, and analytical/forecasting skills.
• Capable of engaging customers in thoughtful discussions about business plans.
Abilities:
• Excellent presentation skills to captivate audiences and generate interest in the product.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
• Self-motivated, collaborative team player who can also work independently.
• Proficient in planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business management skills.
