Manager, Copywriting (Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site in Irvine, CA)
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Manager of Copywriting to help secure Weedmaps as the world’s most trusted source for all things cannabis globally and to create a community that openly embraces legal cannabis and the accessibility that comes with it. The Copywriting Manager will be responsible for creating and editing high quality and effective copy that promotes the cannabis industry, brands, products, and SMEs. You will also create copy for Weedmaps campaigns and ensure brand consistency across all platforms. You have a strong editorial eye, as well as the aptitude to leverage analytics and data to create compelling and targeted storytelling.
The Impact You'll Make

• Edit and fact-check content created by freelancers and junior copywriters
• Write and edit compelling copy for a variety of marketing channels, including web content, emails, social media, and advertising campaigns
• Work closely with the design team to ensure copy and design are aligned and deliver a consistent brand experience
• Collaborate with our marketing and creative teams to develop concepts and ideas for stories, marketing campaigns and product launches
• Produce and publish articles that market Weedmaps, its clients, products and the industry
• Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure all copy complies with relevant laws and regulations
• Use SEO practices to optimize content
• Interview clients and experts to generate creative ideas
• Collaborate with Designers to develop visuals
• Create reports on content
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality
• Create original content
• Lead and manage a team of copywriters, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to ensure that all copy is aligned with the brand voice and messaging guidelines.

What You've Accomplished

• 5+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably in the cannabis industry or related field
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of cannabis products, terminology, and regulations is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative problem solver with the ability to think outside the box
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates your ability to write engaging and effective copy for a variety of channels and audiences
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

The base pay range for this position is $115,000.00 - $128,000.00
