About This Team
Imagine Design is the Architect of a product, and Product Development is the Engineer. From concept through to pre-production stage, Product Development is the front-line regarding communication with the finished goods vendor base, launching sketches, requesting sampling, fitting product and keeping an accurate data library of the life cycle of a product. Product Development is a truly cross functional working group that pivot to partners such as Design, Concept, Fit, Quality, Merchandising, Finished Goods Sourcing, Raw Materials and Go To Market operations to deliver a commercially ready product to our buying teams.

A Day In The Life
The Junior Technical Product Developer at lululemon creates world class athletic & lifestyle apparel that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality. Under the mentorship & partnership of the TD and/or PD, Senior TD and/or PD, PD and/or TD Manager and Director; you develop the line from tech pack hand-off to the production of garments.

• Work closely with the Technical Developer & Senior TD to advance technical knowledge of our brand’s construction and fit standards
• Organize daily work-flow that adheres to GTM deliverables & development timelines
• Analyze and communicate the outcome of fittings and construction reviews with cross functional and vendor partners
• Responsible for prototype management, style number & colorway creation
• Spec and analyze garments to determine compliance of measurements, workmanship, construction direction, and maintain fit intent
• Prepare for fittings & presentations: Measure, evaluate fit sample submit (construction, execution)
• Measure and review proto samples based on submitted tech pack
• Maintain data integrity in Flex PLM
• Conduct product category fitting with the support of the TD & Sr TD: Present style history, take notes of the required fit and construction corrections discussed for assigned styles
• Develop and create tech packs in Flex PLM to communicate requirements for Design aesthetic, fit, and construction (while considering cost impact)

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Knowledge of Flex PLM or similar PLM software is recommended
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience; focused training in Technical Design, Pattern Making, Product Development or relevant experience preferred
• 2+ years minimum industry experience (preferably within the Technical Design or Technical Development departments)

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity or Intermediate knowledge with Gerber Pattern Making and/or 3D software (CLO, Browzwear)
• Basic understanding of Grading
• Driven by the technical aspect of the product creation process
• Comprehension of end-to-end product lifecycles
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
• Excellent time management and proactive problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift 10kg as needed
• Curiosity for change and learning, capable of managing ambiguity
• Self-motivated, strong sense of urgency, collaborative mindset
• Attention to detail, initiative, organization, strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to take thorough and relevant fit notes
• Thrive in a fast paced, cross functional team environment

For California Applicants: lululemon’s compensation offerings are rooted in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position in Californiais from  $65,200 - $85,600  annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our competitive Total Rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
