Responsibilities

• Follow established processes, as well as processes defined and required by the Statewide Enterprise Project Management Office in their role as an oversight organization.
• Work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors to achieve best results.
• The position may add additional projects as determined by agency needs.
• Drive project work to completion
• Work effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors, and senior management in accomplishing project objectives.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including schedules/timelines and various detailed plans for Communication, Risk Management, Deployment and others as required.
• Manage vendor participation related to the project
• Develop and maintain "lessons-learned" for utilization on future projects.
• Work closely with the Project Sponsor(s) and Governance Committees to facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery.
• Manage political, resource, budgeting, change, and issues affecting the project.
• Manage effective project oversight and reviews to affect project success.
• Managing a project to upgrade an existing tax system to the vendors cloud based solution.
• Develop and maintain status reports, decision and issue logs.
• Evaluate complex situations accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful outcomes for the customer.
• Manage and direct a large upgrade project (i.e., project staffing, developing, monitoring and controlling schedules; identifying and resolving issues and risks; and communicating status to stakeholders)
• Manage change requests associated with the project.

Knowledge And Skills

• Experience in managing large and/or complex projects through full life-cycle
• Demonstrated understanding of the Project Management Knowledge Areas of the PMBOK , PMI's Project Management Standard, PM tools and templates.
• Experience in leading and managing local and remote teams
• Solid understanding of project life cycle models as well as knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
• Proven experience in delivering projects on-time, within budget, as designed, that meet the customer requirements
• Current PMP certification is required
