Office Of Legal And Acquisition Services

• Provide legal counsel for ODJFS and perform research and analysis for program and policy areas
• Manage the agency's legal affairs, contractual agreements, and acquisition of goods and services
• Administer hearings and rule promulgation functions for the agency

Responsibilities

• Verify data accurately to ensure Hearing Officers have all pertinent information
• Process and schedule over 5,000 records each month for hearing requests
• Conduct hearings to determine client's eligibility for program benefits
• Handle hundreds of administrative appeals and intentional program violations/administrative disqualification appeals
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and county departments of job and family services
• Approve over 1,000 compliance cases each month
• Collaborate with team members and shift priorities as directed

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and completion of legal secretarial training program OR
• 6 months of training or experience in processing benefit claims under appeal OR
• 12 months of experience in research, written and oral business communications, and public contact OR
• Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment

• Occasional travel within the State of Hiring Company may be required

• Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with flextime available
