As an experienced IT project manager, you will establish and manage enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives and directly manage all aspects of the SDLC for large and complex IT and business projects.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

• Identify, assess and manage risk to the success of the project
• Participate in procurement management, including contract negotiations and wording
• Directly manage all aspects of the application development project lifecycle and work with matrix partners to oversee all phases of the project
• Identify, assess and manage issues and escalate them so that they do not impact project viability
• Create realistic project and quality plans that include project interdependencies
• Analyze, diagnose, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets
• Provide regular and accurate status reports to project sponsor, project executives and senior management
• Collaborate with other managers within the business units to manage expectations
• Estimate costs, time and resource requirements
• Track all activities against the project plan, monitor budget, schedule and resources used and take action where deviation from agreed tolerances occurs
• Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters
• Assist in recovery of challenged projects
• Partner with architects to ensure alignment
• Operate phase containment by ensuring all deliverables for the phase are produced and meet agreed quality criteria, and lessons learned are gathered and documented
• Motivate team members and provide individual performance data to resource managers for associate reviews

Be equipped with:

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
• Intermediate level of Microsoft® Office experience
• Proven ability to manage large project efforts involving multiple business units and support organizations
• Problem solving and critical thinking
• Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbally
• Organizing, planning, and managing time
• Sound business and technical acumen
• Maintaining a high sense of urgency and operating with a passion to succeed
• Negotiating and influencing
• Providing excellent customer service
• Managing engagements with executive-level visibility and interaction
• Recent experience collaborating, facilitating, leading and coaching Scrum teams
• Experience with Microsoft Project
• Five or more years of recent project management experience, including the management of large and strategic initiatives
• Ability to quickly earn the trust of others, set direction and approach, resolve conflicts, deliver difficult messages with grace and act with limited information and ambiguity

Preferred:

• SharePoint experience
• Familiar with managing insurance industry/claims system projects (highly preferred)
• Agile project management experience
• Experience in LEAN, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
• Familiar with managing large multi-million-dollar projects involving more than 15 team members on efforts with significant business implications across multiple areas
• Project Management Professional Certification
• Experience managing iterative projects
