It Infrastructure Specialist Jobs

Duties include designing, implementing, and managing the city's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks; monitoring network performance; identifying and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum uptime and availability; administering and maintaining physical and virtual servers, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability; and installing, configuring, and monitoring server hardware, operating systems, and related software. Additional duties include assisting the Infrastructure Manager in enforcing security measures to protect the city's IT infrastructure against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other threats; collaborating with divisions within the IT Department to develop and test disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies; and collaborating with vendors and third-party providers for hardware and software procurement, support, and maintenance. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, information technology or a closely related field and two years experience are required. Certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA Network+ -are highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms (e.g., Azure) is a plus. PAY GRADE IT22 / FULL PAY RANGE $5,891 - $8,305 PER MONTH

The Information Technology Department is responsible for the administration and maintenance of all the City of Irving’s technology, including servers, computer hardware, mobile devices and phone systems. • Individuals hired into this position will receive $1000 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000.
• Employees that successfully complete their 6-month orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1000 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
• The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individual employee may receive is $3,000.
