JOB DESCRIPTION
UD is currently seeking a Director of IT Infrastructure & Security to oversee the Infrastructure & Security area's technical staff and works closely with senior management to propose improvements to the school's infrastructure and report progress on various projects. The Director is responsible for ensuring the company's technology infrastructure and associated systems run smoothly, perform within agreed targets, and provide a secure platform for the University's operations. This position will oversee all aspects of the technology infrastructure portfolio (LAN/WAN networking, telephony, virtualization, cloud integration, server management, storage, and backups, security operations, and datacenter management) to ensure stable and reliable operations. In addition to daily operations, the role will oversee the area's vendor management, project management, capital budget, and expense management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continuously maintain and improve the University’s cybersecurity posture.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of new cloud, telephony, networking, server systems, applications, and hardware, including upgrades, maintenance fixes, and patches.
- Develop and oversee the execution of IT infrastructure strategy to support the University's overall technology strategy and goals.
- Provide hands-on management of all Infrastructure & Security owned systems based on current needs, staffing levels, and cross-functional distribution of tasks.
- Develop and oversee the execution of IT infrastructure policy development (including resource utilization, disaster recovery, business continuity, and cybersecurity), standards, and best practices.
- Perform special projects, after-hours support and upgrades, and other duties as needed.
- Establish and manage processes and procedures to ensure effective coordination between Infrastructure & Security, other IT teams, and the University community.
- Introduce new and innovative technologies that will assist the Infrastructure and Cybersecurity area in providing stable and reliable technology services.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Information Systems department.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including diagrams, on all systems, services, and connectivity. Practice asset management and update component inventories, related documentation, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Provide level 2 for Infrastructure & Security staff and level 3 support for all other IT areas.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus a minimum of 10 years of IT professional work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with advanced server hardware and support.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with advanced Active Directory administration and support.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT systems and security management.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising both the networking and systems personnel.

- Reasoning Ability: ability to develop logical designs and solutions to complex IT scenarios.
- Language Skills: ability to read, write, and speak English at an advanced level necessary to effectively articulate complex technological concepts to naïve and advanced users.
- Other Skills and Abilities Required: ability to plan and manage resources, time and activities for multiple complex projects; skills necessary for effective network design, engineering, installation, maintenance, and problem resolution; knowledge of complex infrastructure and security technology, trends, and procedures.
