Interim Controller Jobs

Well-established food manufacturer seeks an Interim Controller to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities

· Assume responsibility for maintaining the accounting records / general ledger; in connection therewith, supervise the activities of two clerical employees (billings / accounts receivable and processing of vendor invoices / accounts payable), prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, and complete all activities associated with the monthly closings

· Analyze manufacturing variances and, to the extent necessary, adjust the inventory valuation to approximate actual (vs. standard) costs – material price and yield, labor rate and efficiency, and manufacturing overhead variances must be analyzed

· Complete a comprehensive analytical review / variance analysis on both the b/s and statement of operations

· Prepare internal financial statements monthly

· Collaborate with other managers at facility to provide requested financial and operational data while serving as a member of the management team relating to financial information (operations, FP&A, etc.)

· Communicate with the parent company CFO to ensure that financial visibility is achieved (the company recently migrated to Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system)

· Participate in completing requested information to support the annual audit (audit firm is RSM)

Qualifications

· Ability / willingness to complete detailed work while maintaining the vision to “own” the accounting function

· Strong knowledge of cost accounting (preferably in a process vs. discrete manufacturing environment) and related experience working in a manufacturing company

· Experience / maturity to question what’s being done and provide a business / financial point of view

· Strong communication and financial leadership skills

· Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus
