Location


PayJunction takes a Flex First approach to work environments. This means that our team members can choose to work from our Santa Barbara office or remotely from home. Mission


Our Accounting team’s mission is to provide accurate financial reporting to enhance business decisions, while safeguarding PayJunction's assets and ensuring financial data integrity.

Responsibilities


  • Team Leadership: Manage and nurture the existing team, fostering professional growth through development plans.
  • Accurate Monthly Close Oversight: Direct and review the monthly close process, including journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Internal Controls Management: Monitor and evaluate established financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Project Ownership: Take charge of key departmental projects, plan for company reporting needs, and coordinate changes to financial operational systems/integrations.
  • Multi-State Tax Compliance: Coordinate annual nexus review and ensure timely income tax and sales tax filings in multiple states.
  • Collaboration with Audit and Tax Teams: Maintain productive relationships with audit and tax engagement teams.
  • Process Improvement: Design, refine and optimize monthly close processes.
  • Annual Financial Audit: Facilitate the seamless execution of the annual financial audit, including review of technical accounting positions.
  • Comprehensive Financial Reporting: Create detailed financial reporting packages to provide insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support Department Vision and Direction: Partner with the Controller to develop department roadmap and team planning as the company scales in both size and complexity.


Qualifications


  • 2+ years as Assistant Controller, strongly preferred
  • 7+ years experience in high growth organization(s) with increasing responsibility
  • CPA required
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Experience in public accounting, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or similar)

The base salary range for this role is $115-$160k/year plus benefits. Actual base salary offered will vary depending on factors including but not limited to: location, education, experience, skills and qualifications.
