OPPORTUNITY

Build a new startup around bispecifics. Focusing on technology development, IP licensing, team building, fundraising, and market analysis. Bispecifics are probably the fastest growing category in biologics merging 2 antibodies with different target specificities into a single construct. We see opportunities to build a new platform built on 3 key pillars:

1. Minimal protein engineering
2. Going beyond CD3
3. Generating building blocks to plug into existing platforms to build a robust licensing business

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with KOLs from Axial's network ranging from university professors to industry operators
• Conduct market analysis on biologics and disease indications
• Lead a tech licensing process, probably with a university tech transfer office
• Manage and lead a diverse team of scientists to build a next-generation bispecifics platforms to address a wide-range of diseases
• Drive fundraising and engage with VCs in Axial's network
• Set up and lead a new startup

Required Qualifications

• Experience with biologic modalities and protein engineering methods
• Experience in protein expression assays and humanization models
• Deep knowledge of antibodies and immunology
• PhD in a life sciences discipline and/or 2-3 years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with antibody technologies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bioassay development, optimization, and validation
• Experience managing & mentoring colleagues to successfully achieve objectives under tight timelines and with changing priorities

Salary: $150K (pro-rated to $75K for 6 months to initially get the company off-the-ground)
