Institutional Giving Assistant - Hybrid

Position Summary

The Institutional Giving Assistant will join a 10 person fundraising team raising nearly $13 million annually from individual donors, foundations and institutions, corporate sponsors, and government to support our free programs in New York City parks. This position will support our Institutional Giving portfolio. Reporting to the Institutional Giving Coordinator, and working closely alongside the Institutional Giving team, the Assistant will learn the processes and tasks necessary to successfully secure grant funds, including donor research, stewardship cultivation, navigating grant portals, writing proposals, and more. The Assistant should be interested and enthusiastic about delving into the world of grant writing and will gain valuable professional experience supporting CPF’s free programs.

The Assistant must be available to work up to 15 hours per week between September and December. Start and end dates are flexible. This is a paid, hourly, hybrid position.

Compensation: $20 per hour

RANGE OF DUTIES

• Support grant proposal and report preparation, such as drafting copy, organizing application materials, selecting photos, gathering testimonials;
• Prepare timely acknowledgment letters for received gifts;
• Organize Google Drive documents and folders;
• Additional tasks may be assigned based on department need and interest.
• Conduct and prepare research on prospective sources of institutional funding;
• Assist with timely and accurate data entry and administrative tasks in Salesforce database;
• Assist with tracking correspondence and progress with institutions;

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Google Drive applications preferred;
• Development or fundraising background preferred (academic or past internship experience).
• Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and have strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
• Proven ability to prioritize and work effectively under deadlines;
• Interest and experience in writing, editing, and research;
• Must be able to work independently and remotely, using a personal computer equipped with wifi, camera and microphone for video conference calls;
• Ability to commute for in-person work at our office at least one day per week preferred;
