Job Description

Cordia Resources client a rapidly growing government contractor is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR and recruiting efforts across the organization . This role will allow candidates to work remote but will need them local to the DMV area for occasional in office visits.


Ideal candidates with have 5+ years of HR experience within a government contracting organization


Schedule: remote, with occasional on site visits

Compensation: 100-120k( depending on experience) additional bonus opportunities as well


Responsibilities

  • Responsively handles employee queries, communicates benefit options and changes, manages and updates 401k plan changes and employee benefit records, liaises with plan providers and third-party administrators, conducts open enrollments, and collaborates with Benefits Administrator to implement options in ADP.
  • Prioritizes maintaining accuracy in financial records by reconciling monthly insurance billing and participant lists within 72 hours of receipt, ensures seamless integration between HR systems and carriers, and communicates any changes to appropriate departments before payroll processing.
  • Implements employee satisfaction surveys, manages, and coaches performance improvement plans (PIP) with managers and employees, and promotes a supportive environment through active listening and coaching.
  • Conducts regular reviews of all payroll reports to ensure accurate processing.
  • Recommend and facilitate LinkedIn Learning training plans based on employee role.
  • Oversees payroll activities, ensuring bi-weekly and monthly payments are completed timely via ADP, maintaining accurate employee information in HR and Payroll systems, setting up new employees for payroll within three days of hire, and managing termination procedures in ADP.
  • Coordinates with IT for new user account setups and laptops, and works with hiring managers to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and an effective onboarding agenda.
  • Manage HR and Recruiting staff, including work performance, time off, schedules, and attendance.
  • Manages job descriptions across all departments, oversees salary definitions for positions, and continuously updates these as necessary.
  • Oversees the entire recruitment process, from sourcing to selecting candidates, tracking applicant data, ensuring completion of new hire paperwork, managing onboarding tasks such as benefits enrollment, conducting orientation, educating on company policies, and quickly delivering new hire packets.
  • Promotes a respectful work environment through educating employees on workplace harassment policies and diversity & inclusion initiatives, while also managing workplace accidents with swift reporting, investigation, and documentation procedures in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Encourages higher employee engagement through active participation in group activities and events.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws by accurately maintaining employee files in HR and payroll platforms, managing I-9 storage, keeping employee medical records according to regulations, securing confidentiality of files, and managing reporting requirements for EEO, Affirmative Action, and Federal Contractors.
  • Assists management in resolving employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with discipline and performance improvement procedures, educating staff about company policies, develop succession plans, and administering a professional development program and DE&I training to promote employee growth and retention.
  • Manages the Annual Performance and Compensation process.


Preferred qualifications


  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience building relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Possesses excellent conflict resolution skills
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition roles
  • Proficient in HR and legal compliance such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.
  • Superb verbal and written communications skills
  • Growth mindset with the ability to think strategically, but be hands-on
  • Proficient in ADP or other HRIS
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain high ethical standards of confidentiality, integrity, and quality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 100% Remote with some local travel required (in-person meetings, events).
  • Experience with managing and leading a small team.
