Position: Human Resources Director
Job Type: Full Time
Our client operates within the manufacturing sector and is embarking on a growth period, due to this we are looking to add an HR Director to the team. This role will be a key member of the leadership team and will be heavily involved in setting and executing the HR strategy to help us grow the business.
As HR Director, you will be responsible for the total company’s full cycle HR and people management activities, including recruitment, employee engagement and retention, talent and performance management, compensation, payroll and benefits management, employee training and development, and improving company-wide policies, processes and procedures. This role works closely across all functions to ensure consistency and achieve organizational excellence in all aspects of people management.
We are looking for someone who is exceptional, ambitious and detail oriented. This individual brings a proven track record of growing and leading an HR Department, and thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced and agile environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle recruitment process, including drafting job postings, advertising, screening, creating interview guides, scheduling and conducting interviews, extending offers, and coordinating the onboarding process
- Actively promote company visions and values, and ensure a culture of transparency and open communication
- Design and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and increase productivity
Design and implement performance review process; work with leadership team to develop and monitor performance goals, compensation plans, promotion and succession plans, etc.
Manage performance-related issues (e.g., disciplinary action and termination)
Manage payroll and group benefit plans
Identify and implement improvements to existing company policies, processes and procedures to support growth and business initiatives
Ensure business operation is aligned with all applicable regulatory requirements
- Educate business on legal practices, workplace behaviors and provide support as needed
- Provides learning and mentoring to the HR team
Regularly report on HR metrics to address turnover, open roles and hiring, performance management metrics, employee engagement metrics, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area
- Experience working with a diverse workforce (production and office)
- Experience working in a multi-site company with the ability to travel to other facilities
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated leadership skills to engage employees at all levels, facilitate teamwork, and resolve conflict
- Organized and detail oriented
- Well-versed in labor laws and regulations in both the US and Canada
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Highly effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Process driven with ability to deploy, maintain, and improve internal processes and tools
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Experience building and implementing projects from the ground up and a passion for excellence and continuous improvement
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of HR management tools (e.g., ADP)
