Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager will lead routine functions of the Human Resources department and a team of Human Resources professionals. The position involves overseeing employee relations, regulatory compliance, and employee-related services such as onboarding, training, benefits, and HRIS maintenance. This position reports directly to the VP, Human Resources.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.


  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversee and manage the Human Resources Department; plan, organize, and control activities of the department.
  • Oversee and execute employee education about company benefits and open enrollment
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages and performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Oversee benefits and carrier connections with the ADP Workforce Now.
  • Oversee and execute benefit administration to include claims resolution, invoice approval, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness, information activities program, etc.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures, prepare and maintain Employee Handbook.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Broad generalist background including coaching and counseling, performance management, employee involvement, teambuilding, as well as compensation and benefits
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment
  • Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with our senior management team
  • Working knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now.
  • Experience in implementing and administering performance programs, preferably in a company that put strong emphasis on performance metrics
  • Exceptional project and human resource management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
  • Minimum seven (7) years HR related experience.


MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND SOFTWARE USED:


  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Other software as applicable
  • Office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Windows/Mac OS
  • Relevant training content creation software and presentation software
  • Usual office equipment including computer, phone, fax machine, copier and calculator


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


  • Travel to company locations, if required, to meet with internal stakeholders
  • Typical office group environment
  • Group environment working as part of a functional team.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Ability to organize various office systems through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development and/or management
  • Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation
