JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Home Health Team Lead, you will be assisting STAR with overseeing the Home Health medical coding and auditing team for multiple clients of ours. This is a contract position that is fully-remote with flexible schedule. Must be available to work for 10-15 hours per week to start with the potential to grow into full-time. Must complete Coding Assessments to be considered for position. Responsibilities include:
•Ensure all coding complies with the ethical coding standards/guidelines and regulatory requirements.
•Client correspondence, questions, and consulting
•Monitor productivity and quality standards are upheld by coders
•Provide back-up coding support as needed
•Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines/regulations
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
•Must have the following certifications: HCS-D and HCS-O, RN Preferred
•Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines for ICD-10.
•At least 2 years’ experience performing clinical reviews in Home Health setting
•At least 2 years of active coding experience in Home Health including Coding, Full Chart Review and OASIS audit
•Knowledge of current and developing issues, trends in medical coding procedures requirements, and be able to research as needed
•Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues related to medical coding and billing procedures, and documentation including CMS guidelines
•Proficient computer skills using MS-Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, electronic medical records (EMR) systems including but not limited to CareAnyware, Bright Tree, Wellsky and Epic.
•Meet required client productivity standards and maintain minimum of 97% accuracy
•Must reside and be legal to work in the U.S.
