Head of Business Development, Americas
CarbonSpace is developing a satellite-powered platform for monitoring land-based carbon footprint. Our goal is to facilitate the global transition to net zero by providing the agriculture, food, and forestry industries with an accurate, scalable, and cost-effective tool for tracking emissions and sequestrations from grasslands, croplands, and forests. The CarbonSpace platform allows driving carbon footprint transparency within supply chains and assessing the impact of sustainability and natural carbon removal programs.
CarbonSpace is a hugely talented, distributed team of professionals in Space, Sustainability, AgTech and ICT domains spread across Europe, the USA, Latin America and APAC. We are growing fast and looking for a Head of Business Development.
Role Description
CarbonSpace is based in Dublin, Ireland with the subsidiary in the USA. While we already have projects on over 5 continents (including the Americas!), we are looking to expand our team and presence in the Americas. We are seeking a business development lead for the Americas region who has food & beverage industry experience and can help us navigate the Americas landscape.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with marketing team to inform content strategy and improve brand recognition based on target personas
- Participation, if necessary, in relevant business events
- Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc. in Hubspot system
- Leading internal interaction with stakeholders to find possibilities for portfolio improvement
- Participation in the calls of sales and business development, monthly reporting. Interaction with teams in R&D, science, IT, if necessary.
- Conduct market landscape research to determine customer needs and best targets for CarbonSpace in the food & beverage industry in the Americas region
- Develop sales strategy and targets for the Americas within the first 30 days and its realization in the future
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers, create new company contracts with partners, customers, and vendors
- Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople
- Use industry experience and knowledge to generate sales and partnership opportunities for CarbonSpace
- Research and understand the carbon footprint / sustainability goals and strategies and ESG reportings of major food & beverage and agricultural companies
- Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
Requirements
- Exceptional ability to communicate and foster positive business relationships both
- 10+ years of experience in the food & beverage industry, preferably in sales, business development, strategy. A track record of success in sales or business growth.
- Skilled at developing and growing relationships with customers
- Experience in lead creation and management
- Ability to learn and understand the complexities of carbon and sustainability strategies in the food & beverage industry
with customers and the internal team
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Excited to both develop and execute on strategy
- Outstanding presentation abilities
- Experience with sustainability or carbon strategy
- Sincerity and passion
- Have an interest in ag tech, sustainability, and innovation
Nice to have
- Experience in livestock industry
- Experience with HubSpot,
