The company is a leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with a strong focus on delivering high-quality and safe medications for customers and patients. They have over 30 years of experience and award-winning manufacturing capabilities to develop and manufacture small molecule sterile injectables, and cater to the pharmaceutical sector worldwide.
About the position
They are now looking to appoint a Vice President of Business Development (East Coast). This person will be a key driver of growth for the business. The successful candidate will be excited and driven to build a new business and immediately impact the growth of the company through sales.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leveraging your network and relationships to call on pharma to sell CDMO services for small molecule BFS and vial filling sterile injectables
- Ability to build funnel and close first deal in ~6-9 month time, while developing commercial supply agreements that will take a longer period of time
- As the business grows, this VP will have opportunity to build a team underneath them; however, the goal for the next 1-2 years is for this individual to create sales
- Building a lead and opportunity funnel through: 1) your individual network, 2) cross leveraging the organization’s expanded network and 3) marketing activities (e.g. tradeshows, digital, etc...)
About the candidate
- Ability to operate in an early-stage company environment, and wear multiple hats as needed
- Proven track record of 10-50m+ individual sales in sterile injectable CDMO services
- Individual contributor able to perform all aspects of sales, from prospecting to closing. Recent history of individual contribution is a must.
- Ability to hit the ground running with a network of pharma contacts to call on
- Recent ~5-10 years+ BD experience in small molecule BFS sterile injectables or small molecule vial sterile injectable CDMO industry. Small molecule sterile injectable experience is a must.
