We are currently looking for a new Front Office Coordinator to join the team at one of our Florida practices, Academic Alliance in Dermatology (academicallderm.com). Academic Alliance in Dermatology, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, has 23 locations throughout Southwest & Central Florida. For over 30 years, Academic Alliance in Dermatology has been providing patients with premier medical and cosmetic dermatology services. Led by renowned expert Dr. Panos Vasiloudes and backed by the most innovative and cutting-edge equipment, our team expertly diagnoses and treats a wide variety of dermatological conditions.

We are seeking a professional, bright, and enthusiastic person with excellent people and communication skills. You will play a vital role not only in the efficient operation of our practice but will also help to shape patient experience through your friendly, professional, and attentive interaction with each patient. You will coordinate the flow of patients through the office, assist patients with payments, help with billing and insurance information, schedule appointments, maintain patient charts as well as various other administrative tasks.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Computer proficient
  • Minimum 1-year medical office experience is strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, telephone & written communication skills
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data
  • Assist with opening and closing of the office
  • Reconcile daily charges and cash, checks, and bankcard payments.
  • Verify patient information and ensure the accuracy of the information entered into the practice management system
  • Completion of a Medical Administrative Assistant program or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Must be knowledgeable of office financial policies and fees
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Clean and Straighten front office and waiting room
  • Collect copays and other patient balances
  • When needed, assist the medical assistant team with obtaining prior authorization for procedures and/or medications
  • Greet and Check-In/Check-Out patients
  • Use computer system to generate information necessary for billing, including insurance and PCP information
  • Prepare patient charts and verify insurance coverage
