Freelance Technical Design Assistant

RE/DONE is currently looking for a Temp Technical Design Assistant. This temporary/contract base position will consist of a Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM schedule. RE/DONE is looking to fill this position as soon as possible.

The Technical Design Assistant will demonstrate some experience and knowledge in Apparel Production concepts, practices, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have good understanding of Apparel/Garment construction and Manufacturing environment or in a related field. This is a great opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in the Technical Design field.

Duties:

• Other duties as assigned
• Respond quickly to change with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new ways to work and achieve objectives.
• Knowledge in garment construction by fabric/category.
• Assist with fit comments preparation, which will include entering specs, organizing fit photos, and setting up fit photos in Illustrator
• Update the work in progress chart for sample tracking as needed
• Measure garments for fitting and enter specs in PLM system
• Work closely to support the Director of Technical Design, ensuring any business critical/hot topics are raised in a timely manner
• Updated and/or create diagrams/sketches as needed to support design and construction revisions as needed
• Prepare for fittings, which will include ensuring all fit samples are spec'd, organizing samples, and ensuring fit supplies are available
• Manage library of approved samples and patterns
• Work closely with the design and technical design teams to ensure that flow of information is achieved and accurate

Skills/Qualifications:

• Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands
• Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
• Understanding of Technical Design process and product construction
• Ability to demonstrate proactive problems solving skills
• Proficiency in PC operation, MS office and Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator software
• Minimum 3-4 years industry experience with-in Technical Design or Patternmaking
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
