We are a public relations agency based in Los Angeles specializing in fine art. We’re looking for freelance art writers who have experience writing editorial features, conducting interviews, and transcribing for writing opportunities within our agency, for online/print publications, and for the artists we work with. (Experience writing about fine art is required and must be demonstrated in published work.)

You will be working on a per assignment basis for writing, editing, transcribing projects. For writing assignments: You will be assigned an artist to interview via phone and/or written Q&A and then write a feature, which can be for a variety of different publications (online and in print) that can run anywhere between 750 - 2000 words. For transcribing assignments, you will record artists’ answers to pre-written questions and transcribe them to text so they can be edited for various projects and publications.

Writing skills, time management, editing, creativity, and fairly quick turnaround are major factors when considering your application. You must provide a portfolio or sample of written work to be considered.Please include a link in your resume/CV or send directly.

Commission is based on experience and quality of writing and is on a per assignment basis. Our writers typically group together articles on a monthly invoice. We are happy to discuss our rate per assignment in the interview process.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has experience writing for publications
• Must have art writing experience
• Able to identify key editing concepts like proofreading, structure, and syntax flow
• OK using Google drive as primary source of sharing/editing docs
• Must demonstrate a creative eye and critical thinking
• Must be able to turnaround a project in a timely manner
