Public Equity Group (PEG) is an active diverse network of 40 strategy and management consultants mobilized to help visionary leaders and organizations achieve impact. PEG seeks a part-time (20-24 hours per week) Finance and Operations Manager to oversee the business functions of a leading boutique consulting firm in the strategy, social justice spaces, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) spaces. The Opportunity
The Finance and Operations Manager plays a key role in leading and overseeing the firm’s growth so PEG can expand its national work, team, and impact. In partnership with the Principal, the Manager will lead the firm’s financial and operational growth strategy and build PEG’s finance and operations team; as well as manage PEG’s financial accounting and day-to-day operations (e.g., project P&Ls and budget management); compliance, client and vendor contracts; talent acquisition, development, and retention; and other operational and administrative systems necessary for the effective functioning of the firm. The Manager will also provide strategic advice to PEG leadership concerning operations, practices, and norms; serving as an important “culture bearer” for the firm and its values.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance or related field. Graduate business/management degree desired
- An active listener who builds relationships and develops trust. Skilled at building empowered teams with well-defined objectives, and bringing people together to deliver on an organization’s shared vision
- Financial accounting and day-to-day operations, and other operational and administrative systems experience. High level of QuickBooks Online proficiency required. Facility with online, remote administrative tools (e.g., Google Drive, Gusto)
- Experience guiding the financial and people side of an organization, and ensuring all parts of an organization are working in sync towards the organization’s goals
- Experience in consulting/professional services, nonprofit, small business or related field, ideally with a social responsibility focus

- Base salary $65,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience
