Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results. The successful candidate will oversee the company’s facility operations, manage staff, manage office moves and manage janitorial duties, all while remaining in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Our Facility Managers are responsible for:

• Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
• Supervise all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
• Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
• Perform analysis and forecasting
• Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc. and refurbishments)
• Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
• Keep financial and non-financial records
• Allocate office space according to needs
• Handle insurance plans and service contracts

To be a Facility Manager, you must have:

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good analytical/critical thinking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
• Degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field is preferred
• Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
• Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
