Job Description

Viridian Staffing's (www.viridianstaffing.com) Client is looking for a General Manager for a vertically integrated Cannabis company about 20 miles outside of the Portland, Maine, area.


Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing (www.viridianstaffing.com) is the Original Recruiting and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.


As the General Manager for this operation, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of cultivation, processing, manufacturing, and retail. You will develop, fine-tune, and implement SOPs, regulations, and training programs for all aspects of the business. As a proven cannabis leader, you are an expert at defining KPI's, setting strategic departmental goals, analyzing financial and performance data, and developing plans to promote profitability. You will have the opportunity to drive all aspects of the departments, including but not limited to, developing KPIs, development and implementation of guidelines for people management, training and managing department heads, managing budgets, and compliance. You will collaborate with senior management to set strategic goals for the organization. If you are a results-driven, operations leader with exceptional relationship-building skills, thrive in a fast-paced, vertically integrated, cannabis environment, have a passion for Cannabis, and excel at motivating, coaching, training, and mentoring staff; then this could be the right position for you!


You should bring with you at least 5+ years' experience in managing a cross-functional organization's HR, finance, or operations team, of which at least 1+ year of experience should be managing a team of department heads. You should also have at least 1+ year of experience in managing a licensed cannabis operation and ideally have exposure to all areas of a vertically integrated cannabis operation. You are known for your ability to build and manage multiyear forecasts, using your in depth knowledge of a variety of business functions in supply chain, finance, customer service, human resources, inventory, etc. You should have excellent negotiation, leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. You should be compliance driven, while also creating a safe, customer-focused environment. You must have experience with Microsoft Office and at least one of the cannabis POS systems. If you don't have experience with CRM or ERP systems, you should be able to ramp up on any new systems quickly. You'll bring with you experience managing a P&L and budgets. Using your critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you are able to analyze data, along with performance and operations metrics.
