Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a General Project Manager for our facility located in Austin, TX or Chandler, AZ.. Reporting to the VP of Field Services. The General Project Manager is responsible for the constant coordination of construction activities within the modular and site scope and ensuring frequent progress communication to the VP of Field Services. This position plans, directs or coordinates all activities concerned with the development, construction, and turnover of Z-Modular acquired and owned projects through supervisory personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor consultant contracts, pre-construction contracts, and vendor agreements. Ensure contracts are aligned with current budgets by project staff.
• Manage process templates and implementation of improvements site to site.
• Monitor the management, scheduling, design, budgeting, and implementation of current projects.
• Manage and Collaborate with Project Managers, Consultants, Vendors, and Municipalities
• Other duties as assigned.
• Complete all required reports
• Collaborate with VP Field Services on personnel and project resources. Assign and monitor the same.
• Monitor preparation and implementation of project schedules created by project teams.
• Monitor and assist in preparing all subcontracts, purchase orders, requisitions, proposals, etc., which are being completed by project-specific staff.
• Monitor Project Management entitlement and permitting processes implementation leading up to break ground dates.
• Monitor and assist with preparing set and site activities, including ship loose materials, site schedules, site subcontracts, staffing plans, mateline, site scope activities, schedules, and closeout/turnover.
• Attend, in-person and via call-in, required OAC and site meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Calm and Nimble under pressure
• Minimum of (10) years of commercial construction or related development experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects and Procore
• Quick solution-minded
• Regular, predictable onsite attendance per the approved onsite schedule is an essential function of this role.
• Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
• Bachelor’s degree in Building Science or related field preferred
• Ability to travel to site locations within the US, minimum of once/month up to once/week
• Ability to work in a manufacturing construction environment utilizing degree in respective discipline

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Ability to lift up to 10lbs
• Occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
• Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

• Remain in stationary position for the majority of the day.
