Employee Benefits Account Manager

Welling Young, LLC has partnered with an independent retail agency in Dallas seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager.

This is a client-facing position and with competencies and knowledge of benefit programs, medical funding arrangements, and plan design options. This position works in conjunction with input and guidance with Producers, Account Executives, and VP of Operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals including contribution modeling, and plan modeling; ability to make recommendations to internal team.
• Evaluate simple carrier reports, such as premium vs claims, and loss ratio; track and evaluate year over year changes; summarize results in easy-to-understand presentation.
• Market all lines of coverages – medical (ACA small group, fully insured, level-funded); dental, vision, worksite, and ancillary coverages; prepare RFP, address carrier questions, ensure requested parameters are met.
• Work with carriers for renewal review, negotiations, and plan alternatives
• Review spreadsheets and compare carrier proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with requested provisions.
• Understand and model simple ACA affordability rate.
• Consistently follow client service workflows and appropriately engage internal resources and escalate as necessary.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, experienced with formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.; charts/graphs is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical, dental, vision and ancillary coverages
• Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and organized, have a sense of urgency, be a problem solver and good communicator; team player and able to build rapport, confidence, and trust externally and internally.
• 1 – 3 years in a similar role, Preferred prior broker experience.
