Director/VP of People – Entertainment Investment & Advisory Firm

A growing bi-coastal media investment and advisory startup firm is seeking a Director/ VP of People to join their team! This is a newly created role working with the President and CEO to continue to grow their amazing culture and work in a true Generalist role in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. If you have 10+ years of HR/People experience in a fast-scaling boutique startup in the entertainment, media/creative agency, or fashion space, this is a great opportunity. *title depending on experience

This role is based in the SoHo, NYC office and is onsite 5 days/week. The hours are 9am-6pm with flexibility as needed and some travel to LA around 1 week/quarter.

Salary commensurate with experience; $165-200k range + top benefits package, 401k with match, unlimited PTO

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Manage and execute People Operations, Benefits/Payroll with PEO, compliance, and employee relations

· Advise and work with the leadership team on any employee issues

· Implement policies and programs to create consistency and build culture

· Oversee benefits and compensation analysis to retain talent to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talent

· Create training initiatives & L&D

· Manage the DEI and recruitment process including sourcing, interviewing and hiring for qualified applicants and collaborate with departmental teams to understand skills required

· Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations

· Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations

SEEKING:

· 10-15+ years of HR/People experience in a fast-scaling boutique startup in the entertainment, media/creative agency, or fashion space

· BA/BS Degree in related field, Master’s degree and HR certifications preferred

· Ability to work on site 5 days/week

· Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills

· Knowledge of CA & NY employment laws
