About the Role:
Everest Human Resources team is recruiting a Director of Workday Operation HR/IS. This role will be reporting to the VP of Human Resources Operations -Workday and is seeking someone that is both a strategic and a hands-on leader who will facilitate the planning and execution of projects and will manage the day-to-day human resources operations and Workday data, processes, and Workday system functionality. The role in an internal role in Human Resources and combines the areas of HR Operations and HRIS.
The successful candidate will have previous team leadership experience, and in-depth functional and technical Workday knowledge in at least Core HCM, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Performance and Absence Management. This role will closely partner with Human Resources, IT, and other business stakeholders to deliver world class Workday services across the organization.
This is a remote position that will require occasional travel to our office in Warren, New Jersey. The ideal candidate would be located in the East or Central time zones to partner with our US and European teams.
What you'll do in this role:
  • Respond to service requests and system issues and establish and report on service KPI’s.
  • Lead the planning and deployment of Workday releases, including the scheduling of key activities and communicating of system downtime to appropriate parties
  • Serve as an expert within the Human Resources department on Workday. Provide advice and counsel to colleagues on the effective use of the system and provide strategic direction and support on the design, implementation and evaluation of optimal employee services and solutions.
  • Ensure HR data security, integrity, and completeness. Collaborate with stakeholders to support business activities and initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of HR Technology best practices, make recommendations and champion new functionality/tools to drive business efficiencies.
  • Manage ad-hoc project requests/assignments and delegates tasks as warranted. Leads project management team for continued system development and implementation.
  • Design solutions and processes, configuration when required, troubleshoot and performs testing of Workday new features and releases.
  • Directly lead a team of 4-5 HRIS/Operations team members.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on full life cycle process evaluation and improvements. Preserve overall system health; regularly engage with Human Resources stakeholders to understand operational challenges and aid in root cause problem resolution.
  • Ensure global alignment and consistency while effectively balancing global, regional, and local needs.
  • Support Human Resources through change management and on-going system-based training as a subject matter expert.
  • Manage portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects are delivered in a timely fashion. Prepare project deliverables including project plans, process flows, functional requirements, and test plans.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of our system capability and guarantee the efficiency of Workday business processes and functionality.
  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop the HR Operations team members ensuring team and individual goals are met by creating an environment of individual and shared accountability.
  • Work with teams outside of HR leveraging their expertise to ensure the effective design, development, and execution of programs and initiatives.
  • Partner with multiple functional areas within HR to align priorities and resources to ensure that goals and objectives across the team are met.
  • Advise and guides team members on system capabilities with respect to data, metrics, and/or system functionalities and processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Prioritize workload and provide timely follow-ups and resolutions.
  • Experience managing Workday professionals who own maintenance and support of Workday projects in an operational capacity post go-live.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and recommend resolutions.
  • Excellent communication and change management skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work output and decisions.
  • Experience managing complex, global HR projects and operationalizing HR policies and strategy.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to anticipate problems and take proactive, decisive action, giving regard to the impact on the system, business needs and user population.
  • 7+ years’ hands-on experience working with Workday, specifically in the HCM, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Performance and Absence Management areas.
  • Previous Project/Program Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent team building, mentoring, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
  • Team player, willingness to help where and when needed.
  • Ability to quickly react and maintain effectiveness and professionalism when experiencing change in work scope and/or the work environment.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodology and managing HR Operations/Shared Service Center/HRIS operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build relationships and influence others, regardless of level.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to interface between technical and non-technical personnel.
CA and NYC Only:
The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$210,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
