Job Description
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for specialized HR programmatic activities in the Human Resource Department. This position will perform a variety of analytical duties in support of the Recruitment Department; to perform a variety of analyses, studies and projects as requested by higher level staff; and to participate in reporting and program development and management processes.


Position Responsibilities


  • Collect and analyze data to identify and determine best practices for recruitment initiatives and retention activities
  • Extract and organize relevant data from source databases to outline key trends impacting our business
  • Develop measurable initiatives and programs that accelerate recruiting growth and improve productivity
  • Design and implement a Recruiting Analytics Strategy that aligns with institution goals
  • Recommend data reporting solutions through a thoughtful combination of quantitative analysis, advanced data visualization techniques and qualitative storytelling
  • Work closely with the HR team for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training
  • Implement sourcing strategies to comply with Affirmative Action guidelines and achieve a diverse and qualified talent pool
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa Human Resources policies and procedures particularly those related to recruitment. Knowledgeable of Employment Services (merit) and Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (P&S) procedures for recruitment processes and functions.
  • Partner with key stakeholders within the greater recruiting team and the business on KPI and data visualization needs
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and recruiters in the collection, management, and analysis of data
  • Assure compliance with all federal and state regulations throughout the recruitment/hiring process
  • Ensure data integrity and security remains intact for all recruiting data coming from reports and datasets
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Responsible for implementation of strategic actions related to recruitment initiatives
  • Gather requirements, consult, and guide stakeholders around best practices to design and build the right data tools
  • Evolve our business intelligence function by automating many of the time-intensive data pulls and dashboards/visualizations
  • Run and distribute reports, monitor compliance, and gather information regarding compliance activities or issues


Education Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Health Care field or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience Requirements


1 -3 years of experience in related human resource capacity; prior management experience, experience with recruitment plans, employment data management, and project management


Must demonstrate effective communication and public speaking skills and excellent interpersonal skills


Proficiency in MS Office


Excellent analytical reasoning and creative problem-solving skills


Experience with data documentation, design, and implementation


Demonstrated job-related experience with commitment to diversity in the work or academic environment


Demonstrated experience coordinating a high-volume workload


Desired Qualifications


Staff recruitment experience, preferably in a health care environment; health care background/experience.


Knowledge of University of Iowa Human Resource policies/procedures


Master's degree; SPHR or PHR certification


Previous high volume recruiting experience
