Director, Strategic Customer Collaborations (REMOTE)-235590

NOTE: Remote position

The Director of Strategic Customer Collaborations (SCC) will be responsible for managing the execution of current collaborations and supporting the development of new collaborations between BIPI and major US organized customers across the portfolio and product life cycle. As strategic relationship manager, the incumbent will be responsible for strategic relationship management for at least one Complex Collaboration (multiple projects spanning R&D, Medicine, HEOR, Pipeline Marketing, MA Marketing, and Clinical Trials) and will drive multi-stake holder engagement to ideate and execute upon projects that inform development and commercialization. Incumbent will be expected to lead, interface and gain alignment with Senior Executives, including CEO (internal BIPI and external customers).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage integrated, transparent business processes and tools that are used in customers collaborations for planning, tracking and executing activities in order to ensure the successful execution of collaboration projects in the short and long term.
  • Ability to manage and execute in a highly matrixed organizational construct.
  • Leads management of at least one complex collaboration with external partners.
  • Process Management:
    • Manages operations and co-chairs of Joint Steering Committees.
    • Manages documentation of internal assessments and processes including the sharing of this information across organization.
    • Oversees/ensures cross functional/organizational alignment of key initiatives, regularly collecting feedback and optimizing operating model.
    • Ability to manage and execute in a highly matrixed organizational construct.
  • Responsible for overall performance of assigned relationship, including level of strategic activity, innovative thinking, streamlined operations, sharing of insights, and scaling project outputs broadly within BI.
  • Follows and complies with all applicable policies, laws and regulations. Works collaboratively with legal and compliance functions to manage SCC operations.
  • The incumbent will lead complex collaborations which includes multi-stakeholder: R&D, Medicine, Commercial, Legal and Compliance; Drive strategic direction of collaboration; lead issue resolution and streamlines individual partner processes. Interfaces and develops trusted relationships at multiple levels:
    • Represents SCC in Joint Committees for current collaborations.
    • Ensures that collaborations and overall business is conducted in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
    • Ideate new projects that inform development and commercialization and oversee execution.
    • Supports development of new collaborations by assisting in due diligence and contract negotiations.
  • Keeps abreast of healthcare trends and hypotheses on evolving position of pharmaceutical industry. Captures learnings on evolving customer trends through SCC customers and shares findings with relevant functions within BI.
  • Develops processes for and works collaboratively towards scaling and dissemination of outputs from current collaborations as appropriate.
  • Represents SCC in Joint Committees for current collaborations.
  • Oversees/ensures cross functional/organizational alignment of key initiatives, regularly collecting feedback and optimizing operating model.
  • Ensures that collaborations and overall business is conducted in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
  • Supports development of new collaborations by assisting in due diligence and contract negotiations.
  • Manages operations and co-chairs of Joint Steering Committees.
  • Ideate new projects that inform development and commercialization and oversee execution.
  • Manages documentation of internal assessments and processes including the sharing of this information across organization.

Requirements
  • Minimum six (6) years of leadership experience; including planning, executing and managing teams.
  • Master's degree (e.g. MBA, MSc) or Doctoral degree e.g. PhD, MD) preferred.
  • Understanding of healthcare system and delivery of care.
  • Eight to ten (8-10) years of prior experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry; with strong market orientation and customer/account relationship management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, results oriented, self-starter and strong initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Market Access customers, landscape, key trends/issues.
  • Understanding of frameworks for collaboration and managing strategic alliances.
