QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to be both hands-on and tactical, while also maintaining a strategic mindset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Corporate or Adult Learning and Development or similar field
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Highly organized, strong time management, solutions oriented.
  • Strong facilitation skills and mentoring skills.
  • Strong collaboration with cross functional leaders using a servant leadership approach; leverage SME’s to create content and curriculum.
  • Proven success leveraging and optimizing internal communications platforms and methods.
  • Success in supporting both Owned & Operated Operations as well as Franchise Operations; with proven success in understanding the audience to tailor learning tools to meet the uniquely different objectives of both groups.
  • Ability and desire to gain a deep level of understanding of the critical tools and skills required to successfully perform each position in our park operations.
  • 8 years leading T&D teams and functions in fast-paced, multi-unit, operations-driven organizations, preferably within recreation, fitness, hospitality, or similar industry.
  • Prior experience identifying and launching training to meet the needs of diverse learning styles, and environments.
  • Experience supporting both company Owned & Operated business and franchise partners; thorough understanding of the differences in training requirements demanded by both.
  • Knowledge of LMS systems both technically and functionally, and advanced experience in instructional design and measuring training effectiveness. Prior success leveraging, integrating, and optimizing technology platforms to establish, maintain, and deliver enterprise learning solutions.
  • Proven success leading project teams to meet goals, effectively deploying resources, and event planning.

Compensation: $120-150k + bonus based on qualifications and experience. Full benefits including 401k with matching.

POSITION OVERVIEW

You will play a critical role in driving workforce engagement, productivity, and development across our Owned & Operated Park locations while additionally partnering with our Franchise team to support the needs of our franchise partners.

This position is a key member of the People & Culture team and partners closely with field and cross-functional leaders to understand global objectives. As the subject matter expert for the training and development function, you will manage a team to identify, design, launch, and measure learning tools, resources, and training initiatives to assist team members in achieving goals.

The Training & Development team is responsible for planning and executing training and development tools to ensure our Park Operations team members have the tools and resources they need to be successful in their roles, while also developing into next level leaders. The team will deliver high-performance, learner-centric and instructionally sound solutions to enable our team members to grow personally and professionally.

The T&D team is also responsible for creating, presenting, and delivering the right tools and resources so our franchise partners can be successful in running their business while also maintaining our brand standards of excellence.

This position requires a collaborative, service-minded, results-driven learning partner with extensive experience in delivering multi-unit operations training platforms, internal communications, and learning strategies. You will leverage your ability to create short- and long-term goals, while rolling up your sleeves and working side by side with all levels across the organization. Your deep understanding of the full journey of our park level team members will be essential in delivering continuous development at the moments that matter the most throughout all stages of a team member’s career.

This position reports to and partners closely with the VP of People & Culture and plays a critical role in the retention and development of our workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and manage qualified external vendors/consultants as needed.
  • Closely partner with leaders across both sides of our business to understand their immediate and long-term needs and build effective training strategies that are in line with company goals.
  • Set direction for Build and lead a team of service-minded, high performing learning professionals to transform and deliver learning across the Owned & Operated operations. Create and manage L&D budget.
  • Design and evolve the learning team’s infrastructure to support our existing Owned & Operated Park locations while also creating strategies to support new park openings and acquisitions.
  • Create and launch learning and reference tools, and measure the effectiveness of these tools.
  • Define metrics to measure T&D effectiveness and institute systems of continuous improvement.

Operations Support

  • Provide continuing support to Franchise Operations team by identifying recurring training needs, maintaining a calendar of events for which tools need to be created and provided; prepare and deploy learning resources.
  • Spearhead Onboarding programs.
  • Analyze current state of learning and development and create detailed plans to create L&D systems, programs, content, and teams that improve individual and team performance.
  • Build content for in-person workshops (ie, franchise trainings, acquisitions, new openings).
  • Establish, launch, and audit mandatory compliance, safety, and operational training.

Data, Analytics & Technology

  • Establish systems to retain and retrieve resource materials (standard operating processes, company policies, forms, etc.) to appropriate levels of team members across the organization.
  • Audit and optimize T&D delivery and reporting systems including the current LMS and recurring integration(s) with Operations, IT and HRIS systems.
  • Ensure team members can easily access these documents. Maintain and frequently audit the resource library.
  • Develop metrics and continuous improvement methodology for the T&D function.
  • Develop standard reporting and analytics for all training and development programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to move and position self appropriately during in-park training sessions.
  • Must be able to remain stationary at a desk for long periods of time.
