Director of Learning & Development
Unifi is looking for a Director of Learning & Development to join our L&D team. In this role you will oversee a team of training managers, instructors, instructional designers, project managers, and offshore remote team members; while acting as a subject matter expert, and collaborating with company departments, entities, and Airline customers. You will help to evaluate our current plans/programs, identify areas of improvement & opportunities to innovate, and strengthen our overall learning and development platform. Responsibilities
- Manages relationships with vendors and carriers to help ensure overall training compliance.
- Manage project completion through collaboration with Project Manager & admin teams.
- Support creation, development, and delivery of required and operationally requested programs.
- Plan and lead implementation of necessary corporate, regulatory, and customer-based training curriculum while driving overall training compliance.
- Establish and review metrics for instructor and ID team to include, but not limited to: Net Promotor Score, Course, Compliance, Instructor Audits, Overseeing and managing regional training reporting.
- Manage LMS system usage and compliance.
- Provide cost/benefit analyses of L&D Team programs while working with finance, legal and other support areas to ensure effective implementation of programs.
- Lead corporate training compliance communication initiatives.
- Lead Aviation Services Training Team to create, organize, deliver, measure and track job skills and compliance training across the organization.
- Build relationships with stakeholders across key internal teams, stakeholder teams and external partners.
- Utilize technology to streamline and simplify employee and user experiences.
- Closely monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance to the organization to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and govern key metric reporting for the portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance.
- Build out comprehensive Unifi Aviation Services training strategy, supplementing current systems and job skill training.
- Review of training organization for improvements, innovations, new processes, delivery, and development.
Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
- Proficient and experienced user of Office 365 apps/programs (Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Sway), including managing and manipulating data using Excel.
- Diversity & Inclusion: Knowledgeable about D&I practices in a business context. Able to manage, discuss, and facilitate conversations on challenging topics with sensitivity, connecting authentically with people of all backgrounds and integrating diversity & inclusion content into open and impactful conversations with leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self-starting on tasks within area of expertise.
- Solid decision-maker with excellent analytical skills.
- Experience in the Aviation Industry: Strong background in Aviation Services or Industry, understanding the importance of quality training for the front line. Strong facilitation & coaching skills.
- Six (6) years of relevant work experience required would be acceptable, in-lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, in addition to strong leadership skills and track record of executing.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and influence people across all functional areas.
- Bachelor’s Degree or related field or relevant work experience required:
- Strong technical and business writing skills with experience documenting standards and procedures.
- Outstanding facilitator and communicator; lead innovation by teaching, consensus-building, and project execution.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced degree / Master’s Degree
- Experience in airline/aviation-specific operations with creating, implementing, and improving region/division/company-wide training programs and compliance curriculum.
- Experience with creating data visualization and analysis using software (Power BI / Tableau)
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee works remotely, while performing multiple tasks under tight time constraints. During field visits the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, snow, sun, and extreme cold and extreme heat and moving mechanical parts such as propellers and jet fans and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May work various hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Up to 50% travel may be required.
