Summary
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Development & Communications the Director, Development Services will be responsible for overseeing Enterprise’s Salesforce donor database, data analysis, reporting, stewardship, and compliance; leading prospect research to expand individual, UHNWI/family office, foundation, corporate, government funding; supporting the fundraising team in pipeline management; and liaising with cross-functional teams at Enterprise including finance, information technology, legal and operations management. The Senior Director will manage two team members. This role will contribute to organization-wide and team-based KPIs by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and ongoing requests, as well as exploring opportunities to add value to our collective fundraising potential.
Salary Range: $130,000-$140,000. Remote/hybrid work options available.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor:
  • Oversee ongoing pipeline tracking in Salesforce in close partnership with Finance and Solutions leadership to ensure visibility against fundraising goals.
  • Support the SVP, Development & Communications in preparing materials, presentations and collateral for the Resource Development & Communications Advisory Committee and Nominating & Governance Committee.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to manage reporting on KPIs for MacKenzie Scott’s transformational $50 million contribution to Enterprise.
  • Senior Manager, Development Services who is responsible for the overall data architecture of Salesforce donor database, as well as gift acceptance and recognition policies.
  • Steward and manage donor and reporting datasets to ensure high data quality, reliability, and compliance with all internal data privacy and governance policies, including supporting data for annual 990 filings.
  • Manager, Prospect Research who is responsible for the growth and implementation of the team’s fundraising-related research program and pipeline management, as well as maintaining the High Visibility Prospect list.
  • Play an active role in support of fundamental Solutions division efforts: new grant intake process and the multi-year ecosystem transformation project.
  • Refine stewardship practices by partnering with fundraisers and program leaders to ensure processes are in place for reporting and redemption, as well as long-term cultivation and stewardship for future giving.
  • Become immersed in Enterprise’s mission, strategic plan, and programs to inform our fundraising strategy and processes.
  • Lead frontline fundraisers through the annual pipeline planning process in August ahead of the annual budgeting seasoning (September – November).
  • Collaborate with Development & Communications, Data Analytics & Reporting, Finance, IT, and Operations to leverage existing reporting and advise on new tools so leaders can make data-driven decisions; keep leadership informed of financial progress and forecasts; and achieve financial and engagement activity goals.
Depending on frontline fundraising experience, this role may also supervise and mentor:
  • Creating and executing year-end Resident Services e-appeal and internal giving campaign.
  • Preparing briefing materials and conducting follow-up for prospect and donor meetings involving the Chief Executive Officer, Division Presidents or SVP, Development & Communications.
  • Development Officer who would have a dotted line to the SVP, Development & Communications and will be responsible for:
  • Launching annual giving society and supporting board giving.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required, advanced degree a plus.
  • Expertise in donor database systems (Salesforce experience strongly preferred), Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Adobe (editing PDFs).
  • Demonstrated understanding of and expertise assessing and implementing nonprofit operations policies and procedures and compliance regulations.
  • Minimum of eight to 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, effectively administering a donor management system and other “back-office” operations to support fundraising goals and activities; staff management experience required.
  • Understanding of the fundraising process and life cycle; annual fundraising experience a plus.
  • A professional, proactive, and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to verbally communicate well and in a professional manner with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to deliver effective written and analytical work products including (but not limited to) acknowledgement letters, financial reports and operational/training manuals and materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to perform essential functions within a donor data base system.
