About The Role


The Senior Director of Grocery at Wellmore is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales strategies, achieving revenue targets, and leading a high-performing sales team. This position requires a strong understanding of the CPG industry, market dynamics, consumer trends and relationships. The Senior Director of Grocery collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and optimize sales performance. The goal is to maximize market share, profitability, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a competitive edge.


What You’ll Do


  • Develop Sales Strategies: Create and execute comprehensive sales strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives, market trends, and competitive landscape. Identify growth opportunities, target markets, and customer segments to drive revenue growth
  • Lead US Grocery Sales Team: Build and lead a high-performing sales organization by recruiting, training, mentoring, and motivating sales professionals. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success, including setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing sales incentive programs
  • Sales Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets based on market trends, historical data, and input from the sales team. Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and variances to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure financial objectives are met
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities. Conduct regular market analysis and leverage competitive intelligence to identify new business opportunities, product positioning, and pricing strategies
  • Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with key customers, retailers, and distributors. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective trade marketing programs, promotions, and merchandising strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive sales
  • Achieve Revenue Targets: Set ambitious sales targets and ensure their achievement through effective planning, forecasting, and sales management. Monitor sales performance against goals and implement corrective measures as necessary
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, finance, and product development, to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives. Foster strong communication and cooperation to optimize product launches, inventory management, and supply chain efficiency
  • Sales Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and implement robust reporting mechanisms to track sales performance, including revenue, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction. Present regular reports to the executive team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions
  • Industry Networking and Relationship Building: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and strategic partners to enhance the company's market position and drive business growth


Requirements


What We’re Looking For


  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams
  • Proven experience as a Director of Sales or similar senior sales leadership role in the CPG industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Deep understanding of consumer-packaged goods, market dynamics, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and financial information

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000 to $165,000. This position is also eligible for short- and long-term incentives. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
