Job Description

You are in charge of establishing, maintaining, and fast-growing long-term partnerships with our retail partners. You’ll have a keen understanding of the retailer partners, our company, and products and be able to craft partnerships and negotiate plans that benefit all parties. You will utilize your strong selling, negotiation, analytical, and strategic skills, as well as your financial and logistical understanding to be fully responsible for client relationships and business growth.You will report directly to the CEO and play a critical role in sales and retail success, driving the company's expansion and success.

Responsibilities

  • Set goals for growth and shape product roadmap and go-to-market strategies based on market insights, revenue objectives, and business readiness
  • Manage the distribution growth via store expansion and product pipelines of our retail partners
  • Develop template agreements and negotiate first-of-a-kind partnerships, including deal economics
  • Collaborate with and serve as the liaison between our existing or prospective partners and the company’s teams including leadership, product development, legal, marketing, and operations
  • Prepare volume forecasts and growth plans
  • Cultivate senior-level executive relationships with partners at top retailers
  • Acquire a deep understanding of retailer needs and requirements, their shoppers, and the skincare category and market
  • Help grow the LightWater Sales team, advising on business resource needs and hiring and managing accordingly
  • Develop pitch and positioning for new products or partner segments
  • Identify and pursue creative growth opportunities within Retail (including brick and mortar, ecommerce, traditional retail, beauty channel, and spas, hotels, airlines, etc.)
  • Negotiate contracts, promotional plans, and innovations
  • Inform go/no-go and prioritization decisions on new partnerships

Roles

·Channel development:Develop a diverse range of partnership/distribution/retail in the US and globally. Support onboarding of products and coordinate with operations, marketing, content, finance, and quality control teams

·Account management: Cultivate relationships with partners to help maximize their sales potential with LightWater. Communicate LightWater’s business strengths and brand value to suppliers and create retailer success plans for long-term sustainable partnerships. Provide training and daily operational support to our partners/distributors/retailers on our products.

·Optimization: Commit to delivering a world-class experience to our customers, in terms of competitive pricing, sufficient inventory, realistic content, and exclusive privileges, maintaining a market-pioneer position at all times

·Coordination: Collaborate with various functions in the company – marketing to maximize sales, supplier operations to improve efficiency, customer services to drive satisfaction and repeat, and finance to ensure accurate payment and minimize risk

·Market Intelligence: Provide internal teams with relevant information on market trends and competitor updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • You are naturally optimistic, but not blinded by conviction
  • You can make complex decisions using available data, but are comfortable enough to use instinct when data is imperfect or unavailable
  • You have negotiated numerous commercial deals and partnerships
  • You are entrepreneurially minded with a nose for opportunity and risk
  • You have retail, ecommerce, or marketplace industry experience
  • You cultivate mutually beneficial relationships
  • You set and communicate clear visions and strategies for your teams
  • You are a collaborator and consensus builder
  • You have 6+ years of experience in early-stage business development, account management, client success, or strategic partnerships in retail space or high growth / early stage startups

Other Considerations

  • Hybrid of on-site and remote. We are located in Greater Boston area of MA and working directly working with teams is vital
  • Initial placement through Contractor with option to Full Time Hire conversion
