The Directory of Inventory and Logistics contributes to the success of the company by planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received and distributed throughout ID Technology. In this role you will...
- Serve as the foremost expert on export and hazardous goods transportation.
- Review and Research aged inventory to ensure proper rotation to avoid excessive age (greater than 2 years) in all plant and regional warehouses. Work with Director of Operations to approve inventory stocking programs for both vendors and customers and any aged inventory write-offs and disposals.
- Monitor and measure Logistics functions and service providers to ensure costs are met, service levels are maintained and customers are satisfied.
- Participate as a key member of the acquisition integration team to conduct training and ERP migration activities.
- Develop and recommend annual budget requirements for the Warehouse and Logistics team. Anticipate and request funding for future material handling equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Work with Accounting and IT to design and setup automated solutions for invoicing and accounts payable for all shipping related transactions.
- Oversee the shipment of all materials, both within the US and abroad, both to and from ID Technology. Review and recommend carriers, brokers, etc. for ID Technology, suppliers and subsidiaries. Work with PMBP to obtain the best logistics cost and service throughout ID Technology and ProMach.
- Assist purchasing officers with safety stock levels and opportunities for stocking and cost improvement programs.
- Oversee cycle counting process, ensure all plants achieve desired variance levels.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Research material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.
- Review, maintain and recommend the best software and user interface solutions for Logistics and Warehouse operations. Review best practices and work with suppliers and internal service providers to implement solutions accordingly.
- Analyze vendor spend and works on cost savings and terms and conditions standardization with buyers.
- Monitor and measure Receiving and Warehouse performance for accuracy of location, receiving reporting, movement and storage of material, and shipping.
- Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of Warehouse and Receiving/Shipping team member across all plants; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations. Serve as the national coordinator and trainer for all shipping and receiving functions to drive consistent processes and best practices.
- Build (and formally document) the necessary logistics and warehouse processes, procedures and infrastructure to ensure a high level of performance and customer satisfaction.
Who we're looking for...
- Experience and/or education in international trade and shipping. Familiar with applicable laws and regulations and ability to obtain.
- BS/BA degree required
- Three years of experience in warehouse or materials management/planning function. Education may be substituted for experience where applicable.
- Excellent computer skills and ERP knowledge
- Ability to train others in a positive manner
