Job Description

CCE Specialties, LLC. is an established Commercial Construction Company specializing in Cold Formed Metal Framing, Custom Drywall and Acoustical solutions for commercial, industrial, multifamily and healthcare projects, across Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager.

Expectations of the Employee:

  • Be able to laugh at yourself and with your teammates.

  • Management of all safety efforts of all self-performed and subcontracted work on various construction sites throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. Occasionally there may be projects outside of the region.

Critical Abilities:

  • Possess an analytical and thorough approach to the investigation of accidents or near-accidents, medical emergencies, environmental conditions, and internal or external threats by examining the scenario from multiple viewpoints and determining the risk and most appropriate response.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with Operations team, customer, and executive management and produce detailed project reports.
  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections, the production of subsequent reports, and the articulation of conclusions and recommendations for the staff and the client.
  • Work to identify specific hazards on project sites and to develop solutions to eliminate or minimize the exposure to those hazards.
  • Manage the administration and development of Safety and Health programs that educate the site and subcontractor staff in the identification and evaluation of the many types and levels of threats, promoting a cohesive safety and health effort by the various trade disciplines and personalities working together on site.
  • Manage site safety records and reports, material safety data, incident reports, site access attendance records and electronic country clearance requests.
  • Coordinate and conduct orientations, trainings, development, and mentoring of safety personnel and site supervision.
  • Possess the ability to read and analyze blueprint design aspects for compliance to applicable safety requirements such as ventilation systems, lighting, entry and exit points, disposal methods, the design of proper signage, evacuation plans, machinery requirements, and hazardous material requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, consultants, and the client while directing the construction and subcontractor personnel.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred.
  • Degree in Health & Safety preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Safety Manager on construction and/or engineering projects.
  • Experience with operating and directing the operation of heavy machinery assists in the control and elimination of hazardous conditions resulting from operator error, equipment and machine operations that may lead to injury or property damage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge and application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA), EM 385-1-1 safety specifications, building codes and regulations, and safety assessment criteria for the requirements of a design/build construction project.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Experience in accident/incident prevention, investigation, documentation, and reporting
  • OSHA Train the Trainer course completion.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Experience in Job Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
  • 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certifications.
