What you’ll be doing:
- Partner with Key Account Managers to develop share of wallet expansion strategies for large SLED accounts with remaining potential.
- Provide guidance on RFPs/RFIs and pricing strategy.
- Engage customers including, but not limited to building customer facing presentations; preparing pricing proposals including profitability analysis; engaging in customer meetings/presentations.
- Create annual growth plans along with the tasks & activities required to achieve revenue and gross profit goals along with executing performance objectives for current year.
- Create relationship & communication pathways with local market sales leaders, managers, and account manager stakeholders.
- Prepare for consultative engagement with prospects through diligent and thorough research, demonstrating knowledge of prospective customers’ SLED Vertical Markets (State & Local Government, Higher Education and K-12) and specific business issues and challenges facing them.
- Identify and participate in vertical specific associations and conferences, establishing relationships with prospects that builds Staples image of professionalism, quality, and expertise in vertical.
- Execute business development sales strategies to move targeted prospects to active opportunities, while positioning Staples Solutions as the preferred solution for decision makers and influencers of target opportunities.
- The primary role of this position includes acquiring new SLED clients with potential >$500K by selling to School Districts, State & Local Government as well as large universities and their respective consortiums & Coops.
- Establish prospect and customer relationships with key decision and position Staples product and service offerings.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop strategic acquisition and pricing to differentiate Staples from competitors.

Qualifications :
What’s needed- Basic Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Windows-based applications
- 10+ years professional sales experience with Government & Education clients
- Experience with pipeline management and CRM tool utilization
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Business Development experience selling one or more of the following: Office products, Facilities products, Office furniture, etc.
- 7+ years successful Business Development experience, selling complex multi-million dollar deals in Govt and Education
- Experience working with Govt and Education Coops
