Job Description
What to Expect
As an Associate Manager, People Development your role is to lead a team that supports operations and facilitation of New Hire Orientation workshops, both in-person and virtually. This role will also support broader People Development training efforts. In this role you show up with enthusiasm to build connections and show care about the experience of the learner through being inclusive and welcoming to all.
Successful candidates are comfortable leading through ambiguity and juggling priorities while finding creative solutions to challenging business goals which balance business needs.
What You’ll Do
  • Company expectations and standards are clearly conveyed
  • Stakeholder Management – Establish effective relationships and communication with all site-based onboarding/leader development and stakeholders; communicate often, manage expectations, obtain necessary stakeholder support, assist in creation of engaging and interactive presentations. Meet with site stakeholders regularly. Uses direct and honest communication.
  • A positive & innovative onboarding experience is provided
  • Pilot new learning modules associates with onboarding/orientation (I.E. D&I/Unconscious Bias, First Principles Thinking, Giving & Receiving Feedback, etc.)
  • Continuous Improvement – Tesla is a globally recognized innovation company solving one of the most difficult problems in existence.
  • Lead team of People Development Partners that facilitate and lead operations of new hire orientation and leadership workshops for both in-person and virtual across North America.
  • Provide support and leadership in coordination and planning of training locations, schedules, plan of implementation and track completion of workshops.
  • New hires have a strong understanding and connection to the Tesla mission, vision, and culture
  • Evaluate and measure new hire and leadership programs to provide continuous ideas on solutions to increase program effectiveness.
  • Lead and support operations and facilitation of an engaging new hire orientation experience and Leader Development sessions that ensures:
  • Build strategic plans to support high-volume hiring while creating an engaging and welcoming new hire experience for all employees in North America.
  • Leaders have a consistent understanding of expectations on how to best to support their teams
  • Tesla culture is clearly modeled throughout orientation

  • B.S./B.A. in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related degree + min 3-5 years’ experience in human resources, training, general business OR 7+ years related work experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably managing large teams
