DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Risk and Safety Solutions (RSS) is leading the development of technology systems for Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety for use across all 10 UC campuses and 5 medical centers to ensure the safety and compliance of staff, students, and patients. This position is responsible for leading a team of junior programmers in the development and maintenance of the mobile applications that deliver the services developed by RSS.

JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Risk and Safety Solutions (RSS) Portfolio Manager, this position serves as an Agile Project Manager working on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Initiatives. The Agile Project Manager provides agile leadership, coaching and guidance to agile development teams, in processes while managing project scope, release, and planning. The incumbent designs, develops, and implements product release plans to achieve minimal viable product and system enhancements that address the functional needs of system wide EH&S Technology Initiatives, identifying associated priorities, opportunities, and risks. Working closely with product owners, business analysts and users, the Agile Project Manager ensures the development team understands the requirements needed to iteratively develop the needed solutions. Interaction with a wide array of units throughout the UC system and external clients, including the Medical Centers, and works closely with faculty researchers and EH&S staff in various roles including product champions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts. Proposes methods to maximize efficiencies, both technical and nontechnical. Employs technical capabilities to advance ERM and EH&S program goals and resource needs. The Project Manager provides support to the Portfolio Manager to maintain project timelines and ensure outstanding service to the clients and project sponsors. This position works in concert with Customer Success and Service Desk to triage customer tickets, coordinate with developers to resolve issues and respond to users.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Occasional travel required. Travel between campus and off campus locations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience using Agile methods, concepts, and theories in situations to solve problems, classify and organize data, deconstruct components, combine, and relate knowledge from several areas to reach a preferred outcome.
- Experience leading and guiding development teams through multiple projects to ensure continuous retrospection and improvement.
- Facilitation experience in conducting business requirements workshop and agile ceremonies.
- Project Management experience including leading a team through the system development lifecycle including development and implementation of project planning documents appropriate to the situation, and developing product vision, roadmap, themes, and risk mitigation plans.
- Experience documenting, comparing, and contrasting requirements gathered from multiple parties and organizing, interpreting, and translating them for development teams.
- Experience managing project tickets and maintenance including triage/troubleshooting tickets, and balancing maintenance with feature development.
- Experience in change management, including planning, analyzing, and evaluating programs and approaches.
Preferred:
- Experience working on Agile teams and deploying different Agile frameworks based on the project and team dynamics.
- Experience working with broad based constituencies and the highest levels of management.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred.
- Certified scrum master, CSP and Lean Project Management preferred.
- Experience using computers for word processing, electronic mail, calendaring and development of presentations, reports, and experience using web conferencing software.
- Experience communicating technical information to diverse audiences at varying levels comprising of technical and non-technical personnel.
