Job Description

Project Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Remote

Position Summary

The Project Manager will be accountable for and manage the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of projects (Client Funded Change Requests) with moderate to complex scope and deliverables. Project scope requires planning to implementation and may impact one or more business units/functions. Project scope typically impacts one or more of the following: process, system, function, product, and/or service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement the governance model defined for similar projects
  • Identify key stakeholders ensuring the establishment and maintaining positive business relationships among stakeholders (internal or external)
  • Anticipate all possible risks and manage them by applying a suitable risk management strategy; while developing contingency plans.
  • Track and reports project KPIs and analyze project health
  • Effective implementation of software delivery methodologies to improve project KPIs
  • Maintain regular communication with customers; addressing needs through empathy with their environment
  • Define activities, responsibilities, critical milestones, resources, skills needs, interfaces, and budget. Optimize costs and time utilization, minimize waste, and deliver projects on time, and on budget as per the contract and agreed-on scope, with a high-quality result.
  • Provide individual and team mentoring; ensuring high levels of team engagement, and developing capabilities within the team
  • Adopt and build software engineering best practices that can be leveraged by other teams

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. 5 or more years of experience in a related field.
  • Program Management (managing multiple small projects for a specific work stream):
  • Project Management Professional Certificate preferred.
  • Client-facing and executive management experience
  • Leadership and/or analytical experience with data, systems, and operations.
  • 3 years of project management experience in health plan operations or related fields.
  • Superior Communication Skills
  • Knowledge of program management preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Healthcare experience
  • MS Project/JIRA/Confluence
  • Ability to work in a waterfall and agile SDLC
  • PMP experience
  • MS Office Suite

  • Strong Professional services/customer services skills.
  • Thinks both tactically and strategically to identify issues before they arise.
