This role is considered remote, which means the employee will work remotely on an ongoing basis and will not have an assigned workspace at a Company designated location.

Job Summary:

The Senior Agile Project Manager leads, coaches, and supports agile teams and vendor resources to successfully deliver projects and product implementations. The Sr. PM manages large-scale, complex initiatives from initiation to closure. The Sr. PM communicates with stakeholders, works with external vendors, facilitates discussions, and coordinates activities throughout the implementation. This includes daily hands-on management of activities utilizing Agile and Scrum based software development practices; with the additional responsibility of blending traditional project management practices. Leads a variety of projects including large strategic enterprise-wide initiatives and system conversions. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement efforts of refining agile project management methodologies for the organization.

Principal Responsibilities

Project Integration and Scope Management

  • Removes impediments or guides the team(s) to remove impediments, by finding the right resources to address them.
  • Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between vendors and internal teams.
  • Partners with team members to ensure clarity of needs and plan for changes, updates, and new products.
  • Assists the product owner with program, project, and product updates as well as backlog grooming.
  • Contributes to strategic planning for the Agile teams.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination between multiple teams.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational aspects for one or more Agile team by facilitating agile scrum/ activities and meetings, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.


Project Risk & Issue Management

  • Manages project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to keep the team running at high performance.
  • Conducts postmortem and root cause analysis to help teams continuously improve their practices, ensuring maximum productivity.
  • Takes a proactive approach to manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies. Provides identification, coordination, mitigation, or escalation as necessary.


Project Time/Schedule/Quality Management

  • Creates high-level, detailed run books and timelines to ensure successful, on-time iterative releases.
  • Creates and maintains team roadmaps and dashboards.
  • Ensures that the team diligently delivers a quality product without any compromises.

Project Human Resource & Communication Management (Relationships/Resourcing)

  • Ensures cross-functional coordination; builds relationships and collaborates with cross-functional teams to get alignment on common business/end-user/release goals.
  • Assists with portfolio and resource management for the internal technology team and enterprise project resources.
  • Owns and manages communication plan across projects, potentially spanning multiple teams.
  • Mentors and coaches non-senior PM / SM to develop the necessary skills for career growth.

Project Cost Management

  • Manages project financials - projects budget and forecast for resources, hardware, software, and labor.
  • Conducts cost-benefit analysis for projects, validates cost and benefit assumptions with stakeholders, and Product owners.

Agile and Other Leadership

  • Adheres to the Credit Union’s core values and The Walt Disney Company’s Four Keys while consistently modeling integrity and respect in carrying out the PFCU’s mission and vision.
  • Develops and implements agile sustainment strategy.
  • Coaches and mentors indirect reports. Ensures that positive, beneficial relationships are maintained within project teams as well as across the organization.

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 10+ Years.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, etc.

  • M.A. / M.S. / MBA (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (Preferred)
  • Scrum Master Certification (Required)

Other Training, Technical Skills or Knowledge

  • 7+ years of Information Technology Agile / Project Management experience (Required)
  • 7+ years of Credit Union or Financial industry experience, including online and mobile banking platforms, and Loan Origination Systems (Required)
  • Extensive knowledge of Agile concepts (SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) (Required)
  • Jira and Atlassian Suite (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with various related operating, improvement, and compliance frameworks such as ITIL, Six Sigma, Lean, and PMI (Required)
  • Extensive experience leading system conversions (Required)
  • Expert in Agile / project management methodologies, networks, telecommunications, call centers, business applications and/or software development (Required)
  • MS Project (Preferred)

The hiring range for this remote position is $94,136 to $126,280 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
