The Driver Control Section exists to administer motor vehicle statutory requirements affecting driver’s privilege, to compile and house motor vehicle related data and documents through data entry, electronic imaging, and filing. To provide copies, reports, and information pertaining to motor vehicle data and documents upon request from law enforcement and governmental agencies and to process requests from the general public and respond accordingly.


If this sounds like the opportunity you have been looking for, our Driver Control Section is looking for an experienced person to be our Administrative Assistant II within the Citations Unit. You will be responsible for the daily entry and handling for all paperwork of the Citations Unit. You can expect to read and research the digital image to facilitate inputting the data into DRIVES for record keeping, adding citations issued by law enforcement to allow online payments by the customer, adding convictions to the record from various partnering agencies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. You will also add outstanding judgments and defaults from various partnering agencies, amending or correcting all of the above actions to comply with requests sent from various partnering agencies. You can also expect a normal day to consist of answering and resolving customer issues escalated to the unit through email or phone calls.

Minimum Qualifications


Education and Experience


Two years of General Clerical work experience.


General Clerical Work Experience Is Typically Performed By Office Clerks And/or Administrative Assistants This Includes, But Is Not Limited To Tasks Such As


  • Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing computer systems, scanners, printers, copiers, fax machines and other technologies
  • Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing equipment and software used in offices (E-Mail, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Apps, etc.)
  • Data Entry including: entering information into a program or database (appointments, contact information, customer records)
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service; interfacing with a variety of people from many levels within the organization and community.
  • Reviewing and comparing data for accuracy and completeness. Gathering specified information and compiling routine reports
  • Typing professional emails, letters, reports, briefings, forms, memoranda, etc.


In order to be considered for this position, your general clerical experience must be documented on your application. (Part-time experience will be pro-rated.)


Substitutions


College or university coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Political Science, or similar field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications


The preferred candidate will possess the following qualifications:


  • Knowledge and experience with citations required by Colorado Revised Statutes.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop creative solutions, and implement efficient and effective programs, processes and procedures.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access), Gmail and Google Applications, DRIVES, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.

Competencies required for all DOR positions include good communications skills, interpersonal and people management skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to work with confidential information, the ability to work in high-stress environments, and the demonstrated ability to assist customers.
