Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Administrative Coordinator II for the Center for Tobacco Studies. Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the Administrative Coordinator II performs a wide variety of administrative services and coordinates office support operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following;
  • Plans and schedules the work of CTS to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, resources and materials within budgetary requirements.
  • Serves as liaison between the department and administrative units, such as Purchasing, Human Resources, IST , Accounting and Payroll.
  • Prepares departmental reports.
  • Prepares travel advances/expenses, purchase orders, and check requests.
  • Handles administrative or statistical details for special projects.
  • Assists in preparing studies of human resources, space and equipment utilization, etc.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of administrative experience in a government agency, university setting or large business office.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be highly proficient in computer applications as required by the department, specifically Marketplace, Peoplesoft, PCard utilization, Concur Travel, and Expense Management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-5 years experience in above-mentioned applications, subawards/contracts, and event coordination.
