ABOUT MACRO TRIALS

Macro Trials is the precision research clinical platform, driving increased research velocity and an amplified patient experience to unlock value for all stakeholders in the clinical trial ecosystem. Macro’s clinical trial intelligence platform and proprietary real-world evidence as a service (RWEaaS) product supports life sciences companies in all aspects of therapeutic research, development, and commercialization.


ABOUT THE JOB

The VP of Growth & Commercial is a new, core position in the Company’s leadership team that will report directly to the CEO. This role will direct and execute on all strategic activities related to business development and network expansion, including but not limited to pharma/CRO sales, trial sourcing and expansion efforts, geographic footprint expansion, and physician network development. This role will work closely with clinical, operations, and product leadership to ensure growth strategy alignment with clinical feasibility, operational and geographic capabilities, and overall product roadmap.


HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Direct and execute on all business development activities, including:

  • Provide high-level budgeting and contracting leadership in partnership with clinical team#
  • Identify, negotiate, and close new channel partnerships and trial sourcing channels
  • Identify, target, and secure new commercial relationships with pharma and biotech companies
  • Expand on existing therapeutic area expertise with current pharma customers via alignment with clinical team to manage capabilities and sell against future state
  • Partner with advisors and clinical team to continually iterate and refine pricing strategies
  • Oversee sourcing efforts for clinical studies that are a fit with the Company’s capabilities, resources and strategic objectives


Direct and execute on all physician network development activities, including

  • In partnership with existing team members, expand to new geographies in a physician-led strategy, develop and open new “spoke” sites at physician offices based on demand-planning and alignment with strategic priorities
  • Collaborate with existing Company employees, board members, and principal investigators (PIs) to support, grow and expand the Company’s network of principal and sub investigators across study indications


Other cross-functional leadership activities

  • Collaborate with leadership team to: assess business growth opportunities and financial implications of each contract by analyzing time-adjusted revenue and margin implications of each contract, produce financial forecasts for (i) internal decision making, (ii) BOD reporting, and (iii) fundraising, oversee customer payments with financial operations team
  • Support development and champion implementation of technology solutions to augment data infrastructure, operational efficiencies, and drive growth with the entire clinical research team
  • Maintain and grow existing strategic partnerships with patient recruitment and physician network vendors, and develop/recommend additional alliances for consideration


ON YOUR FIRST DAY WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • Strong relationships with pharma contacts and a record of successfully managing partnerships
  • Demonstrated success in selling to pharma/CROs in large, multi-scope contracts
  • High-level understanding of physician interests as it pertains to clinical research and incentives to drive partnership
  • Ability to operate in a small, nimble startup team - startup experience not required but is a plus
  • 7-10+ years of experience in pharma/clinical trials in a commercial, sales, business development, strategy, contracting, or clinical leadership role
  • Experience creating and driving strategic partnerships and managing existing relationships within the pharma/clinical trials landscape
  • Experience with high-level budgeting and contracting leadership in clinical research settings
