Job Description

This role will be responsible for leading the development and execution of statewide partnerships. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert on K12 products before key influencers in specific states. You will quickly build and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and have an outstanding sales record in education.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsive to the increase in complexity for issues managed by this position resulting from the continual changes to law and lobbying efforts.
  • Work closely with the State Board of Education to understand and influence state adoption criteria and the submission and review process.
  • Help to frame sales strategy by providing the context of political background and goals to business leaders.
  • Acts as an advisor regarding market trends affecting current and potential product offerings.
  • Build relationships with other divisions, develop and oversee integration plans to maximize revenue opportunities, and construct solutions that meet customer needs across K-12 offerings, including core and supplemental offerings.
  • Pursue an ongoing understanding of the K12 market access strategies to penetrate states and define growth strategies for existing states.

  • Navigate complex landscapes adeptly, identifying and mitigating risks through proactive measures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and execute highly effective relationship-building plans with key government officials, lawmakers, and regulators, fostering strong partnerships to influence legislation and shape regulatory decisions.
  • Exude knowledge of each curriculum area to converse comfortably and influence; effectively communicates each product's major features, advantages, and benefits; Display a thorough knowledge of state and local adoption timelines to be at the right place at the right time.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for various industry institutions; Leverage these relationships to gather information on competitive issues, market dynamics, market service needs, and company position in the industry.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships
  • Proven success in managing and leading supporting team members in a complex solution.
  • 10+ years of experience in an education sales-driven, quality-oriented organization
  • Knowledge and experience with adoption policies and processes and working with legislative officials.
  • Proven experience networking with and influencing decision-makers within our customer accounts.
  • B.A degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Proven success in consistently exceeding sales targets and market share objectives.
